There's an aching in my heart
an empty restlessness in my soul
for things not only I have done
but things that were beyond my control.
There's so much hurt inside me
like a gaping would that never heals
and I feel lost and alone
afraid to share just how I feel.
And yet, that's only one side
of the emotions better in the past
one day old wounds will heal by God's grace.
I'll be a whole strong woman at last.
